Tasmania Implementation 

Andy Smith, Ken Brown and Bodie Green travelled to Tasmania to implement WAPOU’s mental health awareness training program Stand TALR (Talk, Ask, Listen, Refer) for Tasmanian Corrective Services.

Over 200 correctional staff in the following prisons received the training, with Bodie also facilitating Train the Trainertraining for local staff to continue onsite delivery:  
  • Launceston Reception Prison
  • Hobart Reception Prison
  • Ron Barwick Prison
  • Risdon Prison
  • Mary Hutchins Prison 

 

Victorian Implementation

Victorian Corrective Services have agreed to implement Stand TALR state-wide.  Implementation dates have been set for February 2020.
 

Queensland Negotiations

Andy Smith and Bodie Green participated in a video conference with Queensland Corrective Services on Tuesday October 29, 2019 to discuss the possibility of implementing Stand T.A.L.R. Andy and Bodie are hopeful QLD will agree to implement the program.
 

Karnet Stand T.A.L.R

Bodie Green was invited by Superintendent Ray Edge to present Stand T.A.L.R for the staff at Karnet during Mental Health Week on October 11, 2019. If you would like Stand T.A.L.R presented at your prison, please contact Bodie Green.
