John came to the WA Prison Officers' Union in 2003 from the Liquour Hospitality and Miscellaneous Worker's Union where he worked as an Industrial Officer for two years. Prior to that John worked for a teacher's union in the UK for 7 years.

John joined our industrial team in July 2008.  He comes to our union with considerable experience having worked for a number of WA unions over the past twenty years.  John is well respected in the union movement having served three terms as President of UnionsWA (formerly known as Trades and Labour Council of WA). 

John has been given responsibility for the following work locations; Albany Regional Prison, Boronia Pre-release Centre for Women, Bunbury Regional Prison, Casuarina Prison, Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison, Wooroloo Prison Farm, Pardelup Prison Farm and Work Camps at Kellerberrin,  Walpole and Mount Morgan.
